Description
The Nearness of You is a popular song written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Ned Washington. The song debuted in the 1938 movie Romance in the Dark. The first recording was in the 1940 by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra, with vocals by Ray Eberle. Later, this song has been recorded and covered by many other singers and musicians and became a popular jazz ballad standard.
Our backing track is inspired by James Taylor’s cover, which is not in jazz swing ballad mood, but rather some kind of acoustic guitars/percussion bossanova style. In download files we provide backing track in two versions, for male singers – in key of F, and for female singers in key of C.
